Connecting to and from your International Flight

Passengers arriving on international flights into Rarotonga International Airport are required to claim their baggage before proceeding through Immigration and Customs.

Air Rarotonga’s domestic check-in counters are a short 2-3 minute walk from the international passenger arrival area.

If you are planning to connect to one of our services from an international flight, or connecting from a domestic flight to international, please consider the minimum suggested connection times to avoid the inconvenience of missing your connecting flight.

International flight > Domestic Air Rarotonga flight: 90 minutes

Domestic Air Rarotonga flight > International flight: 120 minutes

Air Rarotonga is not liable for any compensation in case of a missed flight if these minimum times were not observed if you were booking with two separate Airlines.

Air New Zealand codeshare bookings to Aitutaki will be re-accommodated no extra charge.

If your international flight has a scheduled arrival of less than 2 hours before the Air Rarotonga domestic departure we recommend you book yourself on a later flight and utilise our ‘go show’ option. If you arrive in time for check-in for an earlier flight that has available seats you may depart on that flight instead with no change fees.

Should you take an earlier departure please ask our checkin staff to advise your Aitutaki accommodation of your early arrival.
