“Air raro Aitutaki day tour
Amazing day in Aitutaki with this lifetime adventure. The vessel was really good, the lunch was perfect and the crew was even better. Special mention to Ali for his flawless work, teaching us the aitutaki paradise with fun and effort.”
“Excellent Aitutaki Day Tour – Paradise
I travelled with my partner and my parents for the Aitutaki Day Tour. The service is as advertised with prompt pick up. drop off at the hotel. The Airline, Air Rarotonga, service is very professional. The planes are new and the interior is very clean. Beautiful would be and understatement for the kind of views you get over the lagoon, no matter which side of the plane you are seated. On arriving on Aituttaki, the day tour is wonderfully organised with a 1 hour ride around the town in the truck before boarding the Waka. Plenty of time and didn’t feel too rushed. Of course I do understand they need to fit in quite a lot. Four stops while on the Waka, one for the beach, one walk through a small forest, one for snorkelling with the Giant Trevallies and the last and longest stop on One Foot Island (Don’t forget to carry your passport for the stamp!). One foot Island is Jaw-droppingly Beautiful ! Overall, I would say the price tag is justified considereing the remoteness, the service, the activities included, the lunch. IT is truly a once in a lifetime experience and would highly recommend. Our guide Aly, needs special mention, who made the tour enjoyable informative and thoroughly entertaining.”
“Aitutaki Vaka Day Tour
Had an awesome day with Ali and the team singing us through a most memorable day out, certainly the highlight of our week in the Cook Islands. Fun, educational, and aesthetically stunning, what more could you ask for. A must do adventure – worth every penny! Thank you so much Ali. Apart from mother natures contribution, your input made the day especially memorable.”
“Vaka and Aitutaki day tour
Had a truly wonderful day and Paul our guide gave an absorbing insight into his culture. From the courtesy bus pick up and drop off everything was a unique and enjoyable experience. We were entertained not only by Paul’s humour and knowledge but by the small band that played and sang us around the many islands in the Aitutaki lagoon on board the traditional double hulled vaka. Don’t visit Raro without a day trip to Aitutaki, well worth the cost.”
“Magic Aitutaki day trip

“Book this tour- you won’t regret it
Amazing. Truly an island paradise. The water is breathtakingly clear, like a giant pool. From the start to the finish of our Aitutaki Day Tour, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Will cherish the photos and memories for years to come. Do yourself a favour, if visiting the Cook Islands, find time to visit this island.”
“Awesome – worth the price….and more
Aitutaki is billed as the worlds most beautiful lagoon…..and it lives up to and even surpasses this reputation. The day trip is both the flight, the “bus” trip around the main island and then an amazing day spent on the water. We have never seen so many colours of blue. The scenery cannot adequately be described. This is topped off by a great boat crew – thanks Willy – and an awesome lunch on board. Don’t hesitate – do it!”

One of the Most Popular Attractions in the Cook Islands
The Aitutaki Day Tour enjoys the reputation as a ‘must do’ for visitors to the Cook Islands. If you haven’t planned an overnight or longer stay then this is the way to experience the spectacular colours and beauty of a classic tropical South Pacific atoll.
The day starts with a free transfer from your Rarotonga accommodation and a 40 minute flight to Aitutaki. On descent, the stunning colours of the lagoon come into view and this is usually where everyone has their phone against the windows – capturing the magical landscape below.
On arrival at Aitutaki, the Day Tour takes a 45 minute tour of the island by “Les Truck” taking in views of inland plantations and the main villages. Then the highlight of the day. The renowned Vaka Cruise – six hours of cruising the magnificient blue lagoon aboard the Polynesian styled vaka Titi-ai-Tonga. Visit three (Moturakau, Akaiami, One Foot Island) small motu (islets) fringing the lagoon with time for snorkelling at each one. Experience the solitude of pristine white sand beaches and warm crystal clear water.
Highlights include the iconic One Foot Island (Tapuaetai) and Akaiami – where giant TEAL flying boats used to stopover for refuelling on the famous Coral Route between Fiji, Samoa and Tahiti.
After visiting the snorkelling spot, lunch is served on board. A delicious medley of barbecued pelagic fish steaks served with a variety of fresh salads and tropical fruit all sourced from local farmers. Lunch is accompanied by complimentary tea, coffee, and water, and a cash bar for wine, beer, champagne, and soft drinks is available.
The day ends with an arrival back in Rarotonga at 5.30pm and a free transfer back to your accommodation.
Price includes round trip air and ground transfers, Aitutaki main island tour, and The Vaka Cruise with lunch. Snorkelling gear and towels are also provided.
